On the 10th May 2016, fifteen brethren and friends of St Laurence Lodge attended a meeting of the Colne Lodge No 2477. As it was their ‘laying up’ meeting all the officers of the lodge, including the Master, were replaced by past masters who performed a passing ceremony for one of our members, Bro. Jas Bassan. The ceremony was carried out in a most excellent manner in the masonic hall at Wivenhoe, which was built and is run and maintained by the brethren of Colne Lodge. Brethren of St Laurence were impressed by the ritual and very pleased by the friendly reception they received during their visit.
After the meeting the brethren retired to the bar for a very pleasant drink with the members of Colne Lodge after which we were presented with an excellent meal and dined in perfect harmony.
