On the 5th September 2015, Bro Anthony Hoarau and three friends started off on a gruelling three day bike ride from London to Paris. Named the “Red Riders”, they were cycling the 400 km in aid of the British Heart Foundation and raised over £1,600.
Anthony later commented –
“All went well. We managed to complete all three days in a fairly timely manner, although one of us had the doctor called out after day three for suspected heat stroke. It was by no means an easy effort. Some of the hills were steep as stairs and some were almost a mile long (in my estimate). I did wonder why I was doing it at all at some points. We got there in the end and looking back I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Day 1 saw them cycling from Chelsfield in Greater London to Folkestone
Day 2 from Calais to Amiens
Day 3 from Amiens to Paris
A splendid effort!
