There are many side orders in Freemasonry, one of which is Knights Templar.
To become a member of Knights Templar a Freemason must be a Christian and have been exalted into Royal Arch Chapter.
On the 3rd March 2016, two of our members, Brothers Dean and David, joined a preceptory of Knights Templar in the Provincial Priory of Essex – the Waltham Holy Cross Preceptory No 507. The Province of Essex is approximately equal to the County of Essex. At the beginning of the 2013 masonic year there were twenty four preceptories under its jurisdiction, which met at seventeen masonic centres from Chingford to Clacton and from Saffron Walden to Southend-on-Sea. The province had some seven hundred and ninety swords made up of nearly six hundred knights.
The two new Knights of the Temple are seen below either side of the Provincial Prior, R.E.Kt. John Helliar.
Anyone wishing to join the Knights Templar in Essex should contact the Vice Chancellor for more information.
