ISM Lodge Meeting

ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians) Lodge No 2881 welcomed brethren from St Laurence to their meeting on the 5th July 2014 at Freemasons’ Hall.

ISM raised our Bro Reiss to the sublime degree of a master mason, ably assisted by two St Laurence Brethren. W Bro Ken Cownden delivered the traditional history and explained the working tools while W Bro Len West delivered the walking charge. The ceremony was carried out in a superb manner by all the officers of ISM and the meeting was hailed as a huge success. Eleven members of St Laurence attended the meeting, which they enjoyed immensely. Brethren later dined in perfect harmony at the festive board, enjoying the company of friends, old and new, and the convivial atmosphere.

Bro Reiss’ uncle, W Bro Stuart, a member of the Lodge of Aberdeen No 1 Ter, drove down from Scotland to be at the meeting. A round trip of more than 1,000 miles! At the festive board Bro Stuart presented the Master of ISM with a commemorative medal, a  fine bottle of malt whisky and a quaiche from which to drink the amber liquid. He also presented the Master of St Laurence with a bottle of whisky to replace the bottle he had given us a year ago and which he felt must surely have been depleted by now.
