A lunchtime river boat cruise on the Thames was chosen instead of an evening Ladies’ Festival this year.
W Bro Peter Wilks, the current Master of St Laurence Lodge, decided on something different, which turned out to be very pleasant indeed.
The boat left Westminster Pier at 1:00pm sharp with over 120 St Laurence members, family and friends on board, including many brethren from other lodges. The weather was kind and we cruised for four hours through calm waters under a bright sky before returning to dock at 5:00pm.
During the cruise a buffet was served while an excellent four piece jazz band played popular tunes for the pleasure of the guests. Just before docking the Master announced that it was his sister’s birthday and presented her with a birthday present which explains all the kissing and hugging in the last few photos below. She then proceeded to draw the raffle and three lucky winners each walked off with a bottle of something nice.
